Inhalt: Building on Leuphana Semester’s foregoing general introduction into research methods, this course offers further insights into those methods that are crucial to studying digital media. We divide them into three areas: 1) qualitative empirical methods, 2) cultural theoretical methods, and 3) practice-based methods. In each session of the seminar, we will focus on one method. There will be micro-exercises allowing students to gain an understanding of a method via the experience of performing it. Further, for each method we will read and discuss exemplary research papers.
