Corporate Digital Responsibility (Seminar)

Inhalt: This seminar will make students familiar with the emerging debate on "corporate digital responsibility" (CDR). In recent years, CDR has emerged as an umbrella term for the debate around corporate responsibilities in relation to the digital transformation and the proliferation of digital technologies in business and society. In the first part of the seminar, we will develop practical solutions for practical challenges along the CDR challenge 2022: https://app.ekipa.de/challenges/digital-future-2022/brief In the second part of the seminar, we will explore theories and concepts related to the term, and how businesses attempt to live up to societal expectations in the digital age! The course will combine lectures with interactive formats, group work and guest lectures.

TECHNOLOGY & SOCIETY: MANAGEMENT FOR SUSTAINABILITY (Seminar)

Inhalt: Technologies are seen as contributing to problems as well as solutions for sustainable development: technology is an enabler for desirable developments and involves risks regarding undesirable developments. Thus, this module covers key issues of technology development and sustainability. We will discuss key theoretical perspectives on technology in society and apply these perspectives to the field of biotechnology. Students will develop a paper on ‘technology in society’, applying theoretical perspectives to a concrete case. We will discuss topics in class and students will benefit from providing and receiving constructive feedback.
