Inhalt: This course uses Starting literature: Dowling, Festing, Engle (2017), IHRM (7th ed.). Cengage Learning. (DFE) as starting literature for every topic. The class explores the importance of international business management in the context of international human resource management, including topics on culture, compensation and benefits, international organizations and their structures, international assignment management and the legal and regulatory considerations that global organizations face. This course will help students identify differences in operating a domestic versus and international business and how business practices will need to be adapted to operate successfully in foreign markets. The design of this class is forced on the development of several of your skills, contacts. and competencies. Groups pf students will run interactive sessions with material they have put together from different sources, including - book chapter - relevant recent literature - interviews on their topics with subject matter experts The scientist-practitioner model of learning will be applied by you in covering the topics of this class. I invite you to include practitioners in your research and teaching as they are practitioner experts for their specific fields. It will be very important to understand their perspectives on our topics, the differences of international vs. domestic HRM, etc.
