Partizipative Governance und Nachhaltigkeit - Forschungsperspektiven (Seminar)

Inhalt: In this research-oriented seminar we will study how different kinds of public and stakeholder participation lead to better environmental decision-making outcomes. We will draw on the database available at www.partscout.org to review real-world cases of (more or less) participatory governance from different continents. We will use quantitative (regression) and qualitative (causal process tracing) methods to pursue questions such as: - How and why does power delgation to participants improve environmental governance outcomes? - What conditions are most suitable to "successful" participatory proceses? - What kind of participatory formats (Very open processes? Specifically selected participants? What kind of communication and interaction?) make a difference?
