Dozent/in: Tobias Lenz

Termin:
wöchentlich | Montag | 14:15 - 15:45 | 14.10.2024 - 31.01.2025 | C 14.203 Seminarraum

Inhalt: This course provides an in-depth examination of the complexity of global governance and the challenges it poses. Complexity refers to the empirical fact observation that the density of global governance arrangements - international organizations as well as international agreements and treaties - is increasing, leading to interactions, overlaps and duplication. After examining the earlier debate about global governance, we seek to understand how complexity changes the arrangements and processes of global governance today. In so doing, we examine both the potential benefits and drawbacks of complexity as well as how it plays out in different issue areas. While the course primarily focuses on analytical questions, we will also touch upon normative questions.
