Inhalt: Das Lernen einer Sprache sollte am besten mit eigenen Verwendungszielen verbunden sein. Manchmal können diese Ziele jedoch im Rahmen des Angebotes des Sprachenzentrums nicht erreicht werden, der benötigte Sprachkurs wird nicht angeboten oder passt zeitlich nicht in den persönlichen Semesterplan. Diese Veranstaltung bietet allen Studierenden die Möglichkeit, eigene Sprachprojekte durchzuführen. Hierbei handelt es sich nicht um eine Sprachlernveranstaltung im traditionellen Sinne, sondern um einen individuellen, selbstorganisierten Lernprozess. Als Ort zum Lernen kann unter anderem das Selbstlernzentrum mitsamt des Angebotes an Materialien genutzt werden. Die Studierenden erhalten die Möglichkeit, gemäß der Einschätzung der eigenen Kapazitäten, aber ebenso basierend auf ihrem Zeitmanagement und ihrer Motivation, konkrete Lernziele zu definieren. Der Lernprozess wird individuell durch die Dozentin/den Dozenten begleitet und durch Gruppentreffen reflektiert. Die Arbeit an einem Portfolio ermöglicht sowohl die Reflektion der Sprachkenntnisse als auch des Lernprozesses selbst. „Dieses Semester wird die Veranstaltung als E-Learning Format angeboten. Dabei handelt es sich um ein autonomes Lehrformat ohne analoge oder Online-Präsenz.“

Cat Got Your Tongue? – Developing Your Oral Communication Skills in English. Englisch ab B2 (Seminar)

Inhalt: Are you uncomfortable speaking in English in front of a group? Do you want to say something in your classes, but can’t get the words out fast enough? Do you want to be prepared to meet the demands of 21st century workplaces, where employees are valued for their ability to communicate well in diverse situations? If so, then this is the course for you. In this student-centered class, we will work on vocabulary-building strategies, while improving oral fluency and proficiency skills in English. Moreover, students will practice their public speaking skills in various contexts (small talk, intercultural settings, presentations, interviewing, etc). In this class, we will meet virtually and mostly work in small groups via Zoom. The course will run a bit differently than it would if we could meet in person. However, I will try my best to offer as many possibilities for you to speak English and give you as much personal feedback as these trying times allow.

Dramarama: Communication and Creativity in Action. Englisch ab B2 (Seminar)

Inhalt: Interested in experimenting with creativity techniques, temporarily leaving your comfort zone, and simultaneously enhancing your communication skills? If that’s the case, then Dramarama is your workshop. In our 90-minute weekly sessions, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in process drama, improvisation and drama games as well as analyze and act out scenes from a variety of comic/dramatic pieces written for stage and screen. Additionally, you will benefit from exercises and activities focusing on language-related as well as personal competencies: * perfecting verbal communication skills (e.g. fluency, pronunciation, and enunciation) * refining non-verbal communication skills (e.g. paralanguage) * honing your sprachgefühl for the English language (e.g. register, connotations, denotations) * expanding your vocabulary and vocabulary learning techniques * broadening critical reading skills and cultural literacy * increasing your self-awareness, self-confidence, self-investment, and interpersonal savvy * overcoming stage fright Are you ready for some Dramarama?

Ce cours est uniquement ouvert aux étudiant(e)s qui ont obtenu une place Erasmus pour l'année universitaire 2021/2022 (1 ou 2 semestres). Programme du workshop: Les cours: - y a-t-il des différences entre les cours en France et les cours en Allemagne? - comment prendre des notes en cours. Get English Before it Gets You - TOEIC Prep (B1) (Seminar)

Inhalt: If you have a B2 level, this course is not for you. This review course for general English is intended for students who require practice in intermediate-level grammar and who are looking to improve their reading, listening, and speaking skills. This course will also help students prepare for the TOEIC Test. Part of this class will be offered online with the solutions given in class.

If you find yourself suffering from procrastination, this weekly course is here to provide you with a much needed dose of motivation and inspiration. In our 90-minute weekly online sessions, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in a variety of writing exercises and activities geared towards helping you to get black on white, develop your own writing style, and experiment with writing for various purposes - whether they are academic, professional, or creative. We will begin with shorter writing tasks in the initial sessions and progress to longer and more complex tasks by the end of the semester. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to train language-related competencies such as - but not limited to – expanding your vocabulary; perfecting written communication skills (e.g. sentence variation, transitions; developing a sprachgefühl for the English language (e.g. register, connotations, denotations). All of the writing assignments will take place during the weekly sessions, and you will receive feedback on your writing style as well as language usage. Ready to write away - right away?

Spanisch A2/Intensivkurs (Übung)

Dozent/in: Paula Ulloa

Inhalt: Der Intensivkurs A2 richtet sich an Studierende, die das Niveau A1 abgeschlossen haben (vgl. Einstufungstest) und ihre Erfahrungen auf Niveau A2 erweitern möchten, die sich in alltäglichen Situationen ausdrücken können, aber noch unsicher fühlen und ihre Sprachkenntnisse vertiefen bzw. nach längerer Unterbrechung wieder mit Spanisch anfangen möchten. Die Veranstaltung wird als E-Learning Format angeboten, d.h. als Mischung aus Einzel- bzw. Gruppenbetreuung und selbstgesteuertem Lernen. Als Programme zur Unterstützung unserer Arbeit und Kommunikation werden Moodle und die Konferenz-App „Zoom“ genutzt.
