Media Organize: Exploring and Exhibiting Technologies of the Social

Media Organize brings together students from the new MA programs Media and Digital Cultures and Culture & Organization to reflect, explore and curate everyday technologies in terms of their organizational capacities. The course is dedicated (and to some degree structured by) specific, and specifically mediating, objects that shape the practices, processes and affects of organization. Such media configure organizational (power) relations that are in-built into the devices and apparatuses of organizational life. Therefore, ‘media organize’ (Reinhold Martin). Moreover, Media Organize is carried out in conjunction with the Kunstverein in Hamburg and the artist Simon Denny, also professor of time-based media at Hamburg’s Hochschule für bildende Künste (HFBK).
There was shown a work exhibition by students of the bachelor program digital media, a joint program of leuphana university and hamburg media school @HFBK University of Fine Arts Hamburg
