Inhalt: From the content point of view, the course can be seen as consisting of two parts: in the first part, fundamental aspects of numerical modelling and simulations and the corresponding numerical methods are treated. The second part includes in particular, the application to concrete physical questions and/or the implementation of such methods using a software tool/programming language, which is largely carried out independently by the students. This is developed and presented by the participants in groups. In particular, the following aspects are dealt with intensively: - Physical and mathematical aspects of modelling technical systems - Discretization methods and solution methods, especially for partial differential equations and their numerical implementation All in all, the course gives the students the skills to numerically implement engineering problems.
