Inhalt: This seminar will provide students with the opportunity to learn about negotiation theories, techniques, and terminology and apply this knowledge to selected negotiation simulations. In addition, verbal and nonverbal tactics as well as intercultural and gender issues will be addressed.

Inhalt: This course is designed to familiarize students with news reporting in the print media and the public discourse on contemporary issues. In addition we will contrast news reporting on controversial issues (e.g. teen age pregnancy, etc.) with fictional depictions of these topics in film and literature.

Englisch/FSZ: Effective Writing in English (C1) (Übung)

Dozent/in: Sabrina Völz

Inhalt: Each participant will gain experience working with reference works, writing essays, a c.v., etc. This course will also touch on certain points of Academic English, gender neutral language, English punctuation and mechanics. Homework, attendance, and active participation are required.

Inhalt: Gegenstand der Übung ist die Übersetzung zeitgenössischer Texte aus der anglo-amerikanischen Presse, anhand derer grundlegende, übersetzerische Kompetenzen und Fertigkeiten vermittelt und vertieft werden sollen.
