Rethink Microplastic - Analysis, comparison and solutions to plastic pollution (Seminar)
Dozent/in: Michael Braungart
Termin:
wöchentlich | Montag | 10:15 - 11:45 | 07.04.2025 - 11.07.2025 | C 12.010 Seminarraum
Einzeltermin | Mo, 12.05.2025, 12:15 - Mo, 12.05.2025, 13:45 | C 12.010 Seminarraum
Inhalt: The seminar ‘Rethink Microplastic’ deals with the pressing issue of plastic pollution. The challenges will be analysed from various perspectives (socio-cultural, health, ecological, legal and technical). Students will also gain an in-depth insight into the cradle-to-cradle concept. We will take an in-depth look at the philosophical foundations as well as the practical implementation of this concept in industry at national and international level. Our seminar will also focus on material flow and production in the plastics industry. In doing so, we will examine existing problems and approaches to establishing a circular economy. The challenges that arise in plastics production will be analysed and potential solutions discussed. A particular focus will be on elaborating and developing solutions inspired by the Cradle to Cradle philosophy. Together we will collect different ideas and approaches to establish sustainable alternatives and protect ecosystems from further pollution.
