In particular, this research project tries to identify facilitating and hindering factors for digital knowledge sharing processes in IHRM settings, e.g. within virtual collaboration in multinational companies (MNCs). While researchers have highlighted an ongoing shift from physical to virtual collaboration and exchange processes within the last years, this project will analyze if digital communication media and information technology can contribute as a competitive advantage within IHRM. Moreover, this research project investigates if digital communication media could replace physical international assignments in the future.
