Projects at the Institute of Marketing

In the winter semester 2016/2017, the Institute of Marketing supported the Walter Maack Ice Stadium in Adendorf with the help of around 30 Master's students under the direction of Prof. Dr. Kerstin Brockelmann. The concern of the ice stadium was to increase its attractiveness with the intention of attracting even more visitors and possibly being able to offset the annual deficit of between 50,000 and 70,000 euros as a result.

The students conducted a customer satisfaction survey and looked at the ice rink's offerings, social media presence and methods of customer acquisition and retention. Together with Prof. Dr. Brockelmann, the students handed over the 230-page final report to Adendorf Mayor Thomas Maack in March 2017.

The numerous suggestions of the study have already been partially implemented in the meantime. Among other things, the ice rink is also to be used more in the spring and summer through various additional offers. In April 2018, for example, a boxing evening with local heroes and international participation already took place.
