Prof. Dr. Fiorenzo Iuliano

Fiorenzo Iuliano is tenure-track Associate Professor of American Literature at the University of Cagliari (Italy). He earned his degree (English and Hindi, 2003) and his PhD (Cultural Studies, 2007) from Università di Napoli “l’Orientale”. He was researcher at the Jan Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht (2009-2010) and at University of Cagliari (2012-2015), and Visiting Scholar at several international universities. His research interests span a wide range of topics in American literature, American studies and cultural theory. He has especially published on 20th-century American literature, with forays into 19th and 16th century literature (Stephen Crane and Michael Wigglesworth). He also published on critical theory (the work of Gayatri Spivak), and on popular culture and cultural studies (music and literature, comics and graphic novels). His current research is about the construction of the cultural myth of Seattle in the 1990s.
