Responsible Management & Sustainability

This research area focuses on how organizations engage with sustainability challenges and social responsibility imperatives. Our research examines the mechanisms, practices, and governance structures through which organizations address social and environmental issues, investigating how responsible management can tackle pressing societal challenges. We analyze how organizations balance multiple dimensions of sustainability and navigate competing demands.

Examples of specific research topics include labor standards and human rights, corporate actorhood, collaborative governance and collective action, co-opetition for sustainability, digital ethics, change agency and institutional work, insider activism and social change, social responsibility in relation to migrants and labor market integration, environmental sustainability including organic sourcing, financial sustainability and self-financing, CSR, companies as drivers of sustainable transformation, digital responsibility, and healthcare in emerging markets including innovation ecosystems for health.

Through studying these diverse aspects, we contribute to understanding the complexities of organizational responsibility. This research provides managers, policymakers, and civil society organizations with evidence-based strategies for advancing sustainability, fostering responsible business practices, and creating positive social and environmental impact.
