Communication-Centered Perspectives on Organizing
This research area adopts communication-constitutes-organization (CCO) perspectives to examine how organizing emerges through communication. Building on CCO scholarship, our research investigates how communication processes constitute organizational realities rather than merely representing them. We emphasize relationality and performativity, studying organizing as an ongoing, dynamic accomplishment across various settings.
Specific research interests include fluid organizational phenomena such as (online) communities and collectives, performative and communication-centered methodological approaches to studying organization, relationality in organizing processes, and corporate communication in contexts of polarization and post-truth debates.
By foregrounding communication as the fundamental process through which organizations come into being and are sustained, we contribute to. understanding the communicative fabric of organizational life. This research helps practitioners recognize, leverage, and critically reflect on the power of communication in shaping (organizational) realities, managing stakeholder relations, and navigating contested public spheres in increasingly polarized societies.
