M&E in Digital Age: Digital-Sustainable Business Models and Platform Economics (Seminar)

Dozent/in: Stefanie Habersang

Termin:
14-täglich | Donnerstag | 08:15 - 11:45 | 14.10.2024 - 31.01.2025 | C 14.102 b Seminarraum

Inhalt: This seminar is a theory-based, yet interactive course designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to develop a sustainable platform-based business model. Drawing from the key insights from the books "The Platform Business Navigator" and "Sustainable Business Model Design" this course offers a hands-on approach to understanding and creating value in the digital economy. Over the span of six double sessions, students will explore opportunities for sustainable value creation, platform design, monetization, scaling, and managing digital platforms. In this class, students will also actively engage with AI models such as ChatGPT to support the ideation and creativity process in building a platform business model. Together, we will critically assess and discuss the use of AI for building a sustainable platform business model. In line with our engagement in the PRME initative, this course draws on the I5 Playbook (https://www.i5playbook.org). Business leaders are undeniably one of the most important agents to create sustainable positive development for the world. In the wake of a global pandemic, rising inequalities and environmental disasters, it has become increasingly clear that leaders with a holistic skillset are in scarce supply. These humanitarian catastrophes have surfaced ‘wicked problems’ where no predefined methods exist to solve these transnational challenges and where the call for novel innovative solutions, and ‘minds-on/hands-on’ multi-disciplinary approaches are critically in demand. Today, there is an urgent need for world leaders who can leverage interconnected, dynamic and holistic skills to tackle the global challenges society faces. Therefore, this course implements the I5 principles: 1. Make learning Meaningful 2. Facilitate Active Engagement 3. Design for Iteration 4. Develop supportive Social Interaction 5. Foster Joy and Well-being
