Inhalt: Digitalization effects our daily life, enterprises and society. By drawing upon the rapidly changing potentials of IT, new artifacts, services and products are created. In this course, we will get in contact with theories and methods of design science and transdisciplinary design. By applying, combining and questioning these methods, we tackle real world challenges and create ideas and prototypes of new approaches, artifacts, models and services as first steps towards possible "solutions". Hands-on experience with innovative IT artifacts (Virtual & augmented reality, RFID, Microsoft Surface Hub, Voice Interfaces, Sensors, AI) will serve as a source of inspiration. Creativity methods like Lego Serious Play will be applied in this course. Transdisciplinary design requires group work and close collaboration with people from multiple disciplines. We will include generative AI tools like ChatGPT into the design thinking process. The use of such tools is allowed, supported and reflected in this course.

Digitalization (Vorlesung)
Dozent/in: Paul Drews, Jens Heger, David Loschelder, Mario Mechtel
Termin:
wöchentlich | Montag | 16:15 - 19:45 | 03.04.2023 - 07.07.2023 | C HS 1
Inhalt: In this course, students are introduced to and discuss opportunities and challenges of digitalization on the organizational level while also considering the individual, society and digital technology. By taking a multidisciplinary perspective, students learn how their own discipline as well as other disciplines seize topics related to digitalization in research. Reports and guest talks about digitalization efforts and use cases for applying digital technologies in practice enrich the understanding of digitalization as a phenomenon of interest. Negative and unintended consequences of digitalization are discussed in order to foster critical reflection of digitalization endeavours and to support responsible management practices in digital transformation activities and projects.
