Inhalt: In this course we will use case studies as a basis for student role-playing in a variety of problematic situations in business. The emphasis goes beyond analysis to performance of the 'solution' to the problem(s) at hand. To this extent we will work on a number of communicative activities, from presenting to discussing to writing reports or policy statements.

The course material will be articles taken from current newspapers and magazines such as “The Financial Times”, “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Economist”, “Newsweek” etc. Students will discuss the articles in class and work on consolidating and increasing their business vocabulary.

Inhalt: This course will focus on developing students' intercultural communication skills in professional contexts, e.g. communication styles, decision-making, negotiating, problem-solving as well as managing and motivating multicultural teams. Furthermore, this course will focus on using English as a global language in various forms of professional communication: e.g. reports, essays, and commercial correspondence (written skills) as well as effective presentations (oral skills).
