The seminar provides an overview of concepts of sustainable development from various parts of the world, which will be analysed under the question: What can we learn from each other to foster sustainability? The main idea behind the seminar series is that the students develop a global perspective on sustainable development through a close look at concepts relevant at local/regional level. To further elaborate- Unbox the concepts from the local/regional identity and examine them from global perspective to see what can be learnt or unlearnt. Using participatory methodology, the seminar will be bring key concepts, philosophies, movements, international, local and regional responses, initiatives which may be critically discussed and assessed from different cultural and social perspectives. There will be 4 external speakers who will present on the topics from Africa, Latin America, Pacific Island and international policy instruments. In the previous seminar, the students discussed following topics such as Decolonial theories for learning, Ubuntu, Green belt movement, Indigenous Knowledge and Artificial Intelligence, Degrowth, ESD for 2030.
