Leuphana Digital School

Leuphana Digital School is an online teaching unit at Leuphana University of Lüneburg, a public university in northern Germany. Rooted in different pedagogical approaches, the open online courses developed at the Digital School value team-based connected learning in larger networks, mentoring, interdisciplinarity and problem-based pedagogy.

By developing strong and fruitful partnerships with external actors in the field of online learning, professors and experts, Leuphana Digital School aims at providing access to a wide range of expertise, experience and scholarship. The team-based learning approach, the application of principles from connected learning as well as the mentoring approach of Leuphana Digital School’s offerings foster a personal online learning experience for our participants and staff. We believe in the principles of Open Pedagogy and thus try to make our practices and resources available to the public whenever we can. In our courses and projects, we try to facilitate participation and outreach beyond our campus. We believe that this is part of our mission as an institution of a public university, but also that these practices enrich the learning experience for our participants and students.
