Political didactics

The overarching aim of the field of political didactics at the Institute of Social Science Education is to enable teachers and students to participate in democratic society in a self-determined and responsible manner. The Institute's political didactics research and teaching therefore focuses on the question of how teachers and learners can be supported in opening up opportunities for participation in politics, business and society and developing the skills required for this.

This orientation underlines the fact that political didactics at the Institute of Social Science Education is committed to an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approach from a social science perspective and, in cooperation with economic didactics, makes the interdependencies between politics and economics visible and tangible.
