The Postdoc Phase at Leuphana

We invite you to join Leuphana as a postdoctoral researcher. The following opportunities are available to you:

  • Postdoctoral fellowships: You can apply for a Leuphana fellowship program. As soon as calls for applications (cfa) are published, they will be announced here.
  • Research positions:Positions for postdoctoral researchers and assistant professors are advertised in the schools, research centers, and central research institutions.
  • Scholarships from third-party funding: You can also apply for scholarships from public and private funding organisations in Germany and abroad (further info below).
  • Independent funding applications:
    a) You already have a fellowship or position funded, for example, by the German Research Foundation (DFG) or the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH). You are now looking for an inspiring place that can serve as your host institution.
    b) With the support of Leuphana researchers, you will develop a project proposal for programs such as those offered by the DFG or AvH.

We generally welcome postdoctoral fellows in all research areas at Leuphana.

Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Leuphana Transformation Lab

Applications are now being accepted for the international Postdoctoral Fellowship program at the Leuphana Transformation Lab. The fellowships are aimed at outstanding researchers with an excellent Ph.D. who wish to take the next step in their careers. The Lab is part of the Embracing Transformation program, which explores profound societal transformations of our time. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to strengthen their academic profile, expand their international network, and advance their careers by securing a third-party funded project related to transformation.


In 2027, the Leuphana Transformation Lab will issue a call for applications for additional postdoctoral fellowships. Further calls are planned in the following areas:

  • Empirical educational research
  • Security research

As soon as these application processes begin, they will be announced here.
