Research and Transfer

Leuphana University Lüneburg aims to support early-career researchers and attract them to the university. During your postdoctoral phase, you can decide on your future path in academia. During this time, you can independently deepen your research work, choose a further focus for your research, and continue to network (inter)nationally within your specialist community. Leuphana's service teams will be happy to advise you on the following internal and external offers:

Third-party funding advice

If you want to qualify for a future leadership position in academia, mobility and networking are crucial factors in addition to an independent research profile. Research funding institutions can provide you with conceptual and material support in this regard. Based on your current career stage and your individual goals, the Leuphana Research Service advises you on specific funding lines from various national and international third-party funding providers for researchers in the early stages of their careers.

Feel free to take advantage of our services and contact the Leuphana Research Service team for:

  • Information on tailored funding programs and calls for proposals
  • Advice on designing research proposals
  • Guidance and support with third-party funding applications
  • Information events and workshops on research funding

We provide comprehensive advice on all phases of planning and applying for third-party funded research projects. During the application phase, we also prepare the formal templates for the university committees and the university management. In addition, we draw up cooperation agreements and regulations and provide support in preparing for reviews and selection interviews.

Internal Funding Measures

Leuphana offers various forms of support, especially at the start of an academic career. For example, it provides funds to prepare for further acquisition of external funding. You can discuss your individual research plans in one-on-one consultations with our research advisors. In addition, Leuphana recognises outstanding researchers by awarding internal prizes.

Further information, particularly on research start-up funding and individual consultations, can be found on the intranet.

Communicating your Research

Third-party funding providers are placing increasing emphasis on science communication activities. The earlier you start such activities, the sooner you can build up a corresponding network and benefit from your communication. The Research Communication team supports Leuphana researchers in achieving this goal in the best possible way, for example

  • by writing and distributing research news,
  • by creating information on dates and events related to Leuphana research,
  • by communicating on social media,
  • by developing communication strategies for third-party funding applications or within projects,
  • by offering relevant workshops and consultations.

We also provide tips and tools for research communication. You can find more information here.

The Current Research Information System (CRIS)

Leuphana's current research information system documents the research information and data of all researchers working at Leuphana and feeds into their personal websites. The research portal presents these research achievements to the public in an intelligently networked and appealing way. Take advantage of this versatile tool by maintaining your profile and customizing it according to your individual preferences.
