The workshop continues an informal debate with the research group La charge des images (Université 8 Paris et al.) and the research group The Technical Image (Humboldt Universität). The shared focus is on the conditions of technically produced images (photography, film, video, AI etc.). This workshop is dedicated to questions of failures, glitches, the production of slops, etc., and their aesthetic relevance for digital aesthetics and the politics of production, distribution and presentation of art. We will outline some of these topics in lectures that are starting points for further discussions.
