Im Bereich LinAlab finden in Kooperation mit dem Methodenzentrum im WS 2020/21 folgende Workshops statt:

Corpus Linguistics (Pauline Lorenzen & Lena Michelsen)

Corpus Linguistics
Dieser Workshop bietet einen ersten Einblick in das Thema Corpus Linguistics. Wir werden unter anderem folgende Fragen beantworten: Was ist Corpus Linguistics? Was ist ein Corpus? Welche verschiedenen Arten gibt es? Wie beginne ich mit der Datenbeschaffung? Der Fokus des Workshops liegt auf der Erstellung eines eigenen Corpus und der anschließenden Textarbeit.

This workshop offers a first insight into the topic of corpus linguistics. We will adress the following questions: What is Corpus Linguistics? What is a corpus? What are the different types? How do I start with data collection? The focus of the workshop will be on creating your own corpus and the subsequent text work.

AntConC Basics
Dieser Workshop bietet eine Einführung in AntConc, eine linguistische Software für die Analyse von Texten. Diese Texte können Zeitungsartikel, transkribierte Interviews, akademische Schriften oder andere schriftliche Corpora sein. In dieser Einführung werden wir uns mit den Basics von AntConc, wie Word Lists, Type-Token-Ratio und Keywords, vertraut machen. This workshop offers an introduction to AntConc, a linguistic software for text analysis. These texts can be newspaper articles, transcribed interviews, academic writings or other written corpora. In this introduction, we will familiarize ourselves with the basics of AntConc, such as word lists, type token ratio and keywords. AntConC Advanced
In diesem Fortgeschrittenen-Workshop setzen wir uns mit den fortgeschrittenen Funktionen von AntConc auseinander und wie wir diese für die (Kritische) Diskursanalyse nutzen können. Mit Hilfe von Concordances beispielsweise lassen sich bestimmte Wörter in ihrem näheren Kontext betrachten, wodurch pragmatische Bedeutungen oder Konnotationen ermittelt werden können. In this advanced workshop we will discuss the advanced features of AntConc and how we can use them for (critical) discourse analysis. Concordances, for example, allow us to look at certain words in their closer context, which allows us to determine pragmatic meanings or connotations.
