Applied Microeconomics
The department of Applied Microeconomics (Prof. Dr. Christian Pfeifer) analyzes primarily with microeconometric research methods the behavior of individuals and firms in the field of labor and other fields relevant for society. The research focus includes, for example, the relevance of fairness in employment and remuneration, the effects of works councils and unions, sex-specific differences, and the determinants of satisfaction in different domains.
Christian Pfeifer has published his work in international peer-reviewed journals including Industrial Relations, Industrial and Labor Relations Review, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Health Economics, Economics of Education Review, and Journal of Happiness Studies.
