PHD PROGRAM BEHAVIORAL ECONOMICS AND SOCIETAL TRANSFORMATION

The PhD program “Behavioral Economics and Social Transformation” was founded in December 2022. It builds on an established network of behavioral economists at universities in Lower Saxony and systematically links these institutions.

With the recently established research cluster "Behavioral Economics and Societal Transformation", we are expanding our PhD program. During the first two years, doctoral students take part in various PhD courses (including Advanced Microeconometrics, Experimental Methods, Empirical Research with Stata, Introduction to oTree). In addition, there are two annual scientific conferences (Workshop on Microeconomics in spring in Lüneburg, Workshop Behavioral Economics in autumn in Clausthal). In the days before these workshops, the doctoral students of the program meet at the Spring and Autumn Workshops, where they discuss current research ideas, experimental designs and preliminary results. In addition, additional formats are planned for the future.
