Law and Economics
The area of Law and Economics is held by Prof. Dr. Johannes Lohse. The research focus of this area is in the fields of environmental economics and behavioral economics.
His research primarily concerns the provision of public goods across generations, as well as the examination of the effects of incentives, rules, and norms on private contributions to environmental and climate protection.
Additional (interdisciplinary) areas of interest include cognition and economic decision-making, public perception of environmental problems, and the impact of AI on economic decision-making.
Prof. Lohse uses empirical and experimental methods in his work.
Prof. Lohse is a Co-Editor at Environmental and Resource Economics.
His research projects have been funded by the British Academy, the ESRC, the AHRC, UKRI, and the BMBF, among others.
Johannes Lohse's work has been published in leading international peer-reviewed journals, including the European Economic Review, Nature Communications, Experimental Economics, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Journal of Experimental Psychology: General, and Environmental and Resource Economics.
Johannes Lohse is an adjunct member at the Institute for Economics as well as at the Methods Center of Leuphana University. He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham.
