Public guest lecture ‘Cultural Change in Ukraine and beyond’ with Yaroslav Minkin

10. Jun

As part of the ‘Culture and Transformation’ module, the Arts and Cultural Management programme invites you to a public guest lecture with Yaroslav Minkin, a Ukrainian poet and activist, on 10 June 2025 at 12 a.m. (CET).

It's that time again. The ‘Culture and Transformation’ module is starting in the Master's programme in Arts and Cultural Management. The topic is becoming increasingly important every year and reflects all current issues in cultural management and cultural policy. Our long-standing lecturer Dr Patrick S. Föhl will welcome Yaroslav Minkin on 10 June 2025 from 12:00 to 13:30 CET. The online event is open to the public. After a short registration by email to macuma.info@leuphana.de, we will send you the access details.

Yaroslav Minkin and Patrick Föhl have been working together since 2014 (Euromaidan) and have initiated various cultural development projects with many colleagues in Ukraine and with the support of the Goethe-Institut. The focus has always been on transformation. From the aspects of decentralization, to the training of people from the cultural administration, to the aspects of »Post war cultural development and recovery in Ukraine« in view of the current Russian war of aggression. A road map on this matter was published a few days ago (pdf download at the Goethe-Insitut website). Currently they are members of the »Cultural Transformation Lab Ukraine« by the House of Europe and the Goethe-Institut Ukraine.

Patrick Föhl will take a brief look back at all the activities and then Yaroslav Minkin will give an impulse on the current situation in Ukraine and the developments that have led there. He will also take a look at other post-Soviet states and their development. Afterwards there will be time for an open exchange. If you have specific questions for Yaroslav Minkin, please send them online in advance if possible.
