Azadeh Maghsoodi is now Artist in Residence at the Music Center

2023-11-21 Lüneburg. In 2019, Leuphana University Lüneburg began appointing an artist in residence for one year to provide musical support to a Leuphana ensemble. Since this winter semester, violinist Azadeh Maghsoodi has been a guest at the Leuphana Music Center. She will be working with the Camerata, the university's chamber orchestra.

Azadeh Maghsoodi studied with Prof Maria Egelhof (Lübeck University of Music), Prof David Takeno (Guildhall School of Music and Drama London) and took part in international master classes. She has performed as a soloist with the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock and the Polish Chamber Orchestra, among others. Concert tours have taken her to America, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Russia, the Czech Republic and the Baltic States.

Her performance at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival attracted international attention. Together with Nigel Kennedy, she played Bach's double concerto at the age of 16. "Azadeh has a fantastic technique. But she also has this truthfulness and beauty of tone that shows what is really in the music," the star violinist praised her.

Leuphana University Music Director Rebecca Lang is delighted with the new artist: "With her diverse experience and great musicality, Azadeh Maghsoodi will be a great asset to the training of our chamber music ensembles. "Azadeh Maghsoodi will make her first appearance at Leuphana at this year's Winter Picnic Series at the Music Center. The three-day concert series begins on December 18.
