19th Workshop on Microeconomics: Call for Papers Now Open

2026-10-19

On March 4–5, 2027, the Research Cluster “Behavioral Economics and Societal Transformation” and the Institute of Economics at Leuphana University of Lüneburg invite researchers to the 19th Workshop on Microeconomics. The series began in 2009 as a small economics workshop in Tübingen. Since 2016, it has taken place in Lüneburg every spring, and 2027 marks its twelfth edition at Leuphana. The workshop brings together researchers from behavioral, labor and personnel economics as well as related fields. The 2026 program showed how broad that range is, with topics from paternalism across countries and perceptions of pollution to gender differences in breadwinning preferences. The workshop deliberately keeps a compact format with in-depth discussion, so that conversations about research can turn into collaborations. It is organized by Boris Hirsch, Johannes Lohse and Mario Mechtel.

Submissions are now open. Extended abstracts or full papers can be sent as a PDF to mario.mechtel@leuphana.de by December 23, 2026. Full papers will be given preference. Authors will be notified of acceptance no later than January 15, 2027. On the day before, March 3, 2027, the Research Cluster will also host a PhD workshop. The cluster is a network of seven universities in Lower Saxony and Fraunhofer FIT, funded by the zukunft.niedersachsen program. The PhD workshop gives doctoral researchers a dedicated setting to present and discuss their projects. For anyone working on human decision-making, early March in Lüneburg means three full days of exchange.
