Malte Joost
During his study of Cultural Sciences (media and communication studies/digital media) at Leuphana University Lüneburg, Malte Joost has been a resarch student at MECS. In 2015 –post-graduate–, he operated as a research assistant.
His studies concentrate on the fields of photography and film in media-theoretical and philosophical contexts, with respect to theories of collective memory (in this context, significant consideration is assigned to the terms objectivity and truth).
His latest research focuses on smartphone-photography in conjunction with online communities and the exert influence on (re)forming culture(s), communication(s) and supra-individual memory; combining photography with an information and (mass-)communication technology.
Malte Joost works as a freelance and part-time photographer, video journalist and online editor. At MECS he was responsible for public relations work and multimedia content creation (videography/photography); ranging from concept development to project preparation such as project implementation.
