Ethnography in Outer Space (new publication by Prof. Dr Anna Lisa Ramella)

The publication Ethnography beyond Earth: Coloniality, Outer Space, and Anthropological Imagination by Prof. Dr. Anna Lisa Ramella together with Dr. Hanna Nieber (Halle), Dr. Anton Nikolotov (Paris) and Prof. Dr. Alana Osbourne (Nijmegen) examines the everyday social and political effects of renewed space faring ambitions, including the displacement of communities, the speculative capitalization of unmaterialized futures, and the reproduction of geopolitical hierarchies through celestial imaginaries. The article is based on a panel organised by the four authors at the annual congress of the World Anthropological Union (WAU).
