The Institute of Economics cordially invites students, researchers and all interested parties to a lecture by Prof. Johannes Lohse. Learn about the work of Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson and James A. Robinson, this year's winners of the Alfred Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences. The three scientists were honored for their research on how institutions create wealth and why economic inequalities exist between countries. Their studies of various political and economic systems shaped by European colonial history reveal a profound connection between the persistence of economic institutions and the resulting levels of prosperity. Prof. Lohse will present selected contributions that shed light on the methodological approach and the main findings of this research.

The lecture will be held in English.
