The team of Allgemeiner Hochschulsport consists of almost 30 students and three full-time team players. It is supported by two volunteers who are completing a social ecological year in sports.

Our strengths are our openness to new things and our great motivation together to always do our best to provide opportunity to healthy, fun and diverse sports to as many people with very different needs as possible.

Those who are part of this team can contribute their knowledge and skills from their own sports experiences, from an apprenticeship and from their studies with us.

We enjoy learning new things from each other and putting innovative ideas into practice.

Sport and exercise make an important contribution to a high quality of living and a tolerant lifestyle. Conversely, sport has its most positive effects when it is practiced in an intact environment and a society based on solidarity. Accordingly, we are committed to our environment as well as to our fellow human beings and to ensuring that future generations will also be able to lead happy, self-determined and, of course, active lives.

In order to come close to this goal, the university sports center has adopted a sustainability strategy in the context of the project "Sustainability in and through University Sport" in May 2020 (05/2019 - 04/2020), which was carried out together with Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulsportverband (adh). Together with the employees of Allgemeiner Hochschulsport, goals and measures were defined within their respective fields of action for the sustainability topics of mobility, procurement, climate impact, communication, people and structural integration.

What would Allgemeiner Hochschulsport be without the commitment of those who guide you every day in the gym, in the course room, under the open sky or in the water?

If you would like to share your enthusiasm for sports with many participants, then please send us your application. We are always looking for qualified and motivated instructors for our programme. If we do not currently offer your favourite sport, we will be happy to check whether we can add it to our programme with you as an instructor.

You would like to represent Leuphana University in a sports competition? We will support you in participating in national university championships as well as in supraregional competitive sports events that are specially organised for university members. After successful qualification we are happy to support you on an international level.

Combining successes in sports and professional-academic education - that is the goal of Leuphana University Lüneburg as a partner university of top-class sports.

Leuphana University supports student athletes by offering them support during their studies, flexible study conditions and training opportunities. We are particularly proud of our university community, in which we cheer along with our athletes, keep our fingers crossed and work as a team to achieve top performances. Information on the requirements and conditions of the sponsorship offer are explained on the following pages. We also introduce our current top athletes.

Shared knowledge is double knowledge, and with united forces, even great goals can be achieved. For this reason, we have established a network beyond the various Leuphana University institutions with which we are jointly engaged: With other university sports institutions, the University Sports Association in Lower Saxony and Bremen (HVNB), the Allgemeiner Deutscher Hochschulsportverband (adh) and very much with our health partner, the Techniker Krankenkasse (TK).
