Sustainability

Sport and exercise are essential components of a healthy and fulfilling life. They not only promote physical fitness, but also contribute to a tolerant lifestyle. We firmly believe that sport is at its most beneficial when it is practised in harmony with an intact environment and communities based on solidarity. We see fair play as a fundamental value of the University Sports Centre. We therefore not only want to share a spirit of fair play within our team and with our participants, but also with regard to the world in which we all live. We are therefore passionate about the environment and the well-being of our fellow human beings. Our aim is to enable future generations to lead happy, self-determined and active lives.

Sustainability strategy

To achieve this goal, University Sport developed a comprehensive sustainability strategy in May 2020 as part of the joint project ‘Sustainability in and through University Sport’ (05/2019 - 04/2020) with the General German University Sports Association. Together with our dedicated employees, we have defined specific goals and measures in various fields of action in order to actively address topics such as mobility, purchasing, climate impact, communication, social commitment and structural integration.
