Rental of sports venues

We are happy to support external sports providers and athletes by making our sports facilities available for use, subject to availability.
An overview of the available sports facilities can be found below.


All rentals are made on request by email to hss-projekte@leuphana.de.

Prices and fees

The prices for using our sports facilities are based on the University Sports Centre's usage and fee regulations. These vary depending on the sports facility and the classification into different categories. The hourly rate is determined based on the respective category.

Overview of our categories:

  • Category I: Leuphana institutions (e.g. student councils and initiatives) can use our sports facilities free of charge.

  • Category II: Public and non-profit organisations, as well as other non-profit sports groups, pay a reduced fee.

  • Category III: Everyone else pays the full fee. 

The prices quoted are net prices and do not include the statutory value added tax or a processing fee of €30.

Application process

If you would like to rent one of our sports facilities, please follow these steps:

  1. Choose fitting venue:
    Consider which sports facility is suitable for your event and check the available times in the respective booking schedule. You can find the booking schedules on the detailed pages for each sports facility on this website.

  2. Make a booking enquiry:
    Fill out the form for the rent of venues  and send it to hss-projekte@leuphana.de. You will then receive a reply to your enquiry.

  3. First use – Introduction:
    If you are using the desired sports facility for the first time, a brief introduction is required. Once your application has been confirmed, please contact our volunteers at ole.nisse@leuphana.de to arrange an appointment.

Important notes

  • Renting a sports facility does not include access to the University Sports Centre's equipment. Small sports equipment (e.g. balls, table tennis bats) can be hired separately from Studio 21.

  • Use of the sports facility is only possible if the request is made well in advance.

Sports venue rental for instructors, participants and sports students

Our venues can be used free of charge by the following people:

  • Course instructors of the university sports, that want to use the venue in context of their course (e.g. for preparation).

  • Sport students who want to train for exams in the gym.

That's how it works:

  1. Check free times in the schedule of the respective venue.

  2. Send a booking request to hss-programm@leuphana.de.

Please include following information in your request:

  • Date and time of requested usage. 

  • Responsible person

  • Status of the responsible person (participant, course instructor, sport student).

  • Reason for the usage. 

Usage of outdoor areas

Our outdoor areas can be rented for various events. To ensure that everything runs smoothly and out of consideration for teaching, staff and neighbours, certain rules must be observed.

Rental of outdoor areas to student councils and initiatives

We are happy to make our outdoor areas available to student councils and initiatives at the university for events. To ensure that your events run smoothly and are in harmony with teaching, staff and neighbours, we ask you to comply with the established rules and obligations.
