Exchange semester as international student
In addition to participating in international double degree programmes, you also have the opportunity to integrate a semester abroad into your regular studies at Leuphana and thus also gain international experience. This allows you to combine your academic education with the development of intercultural skills. To this end, we facilitate stays abroad at both bachelor's and master's level.
Unlike a double degree programme, a semester abroad allows you to choose between different target countries and institutions, as Leuphana University has access to a network of over 100 partner universities worldwide. Experience shows that our students gain a great deal from these international stays: in addition to great friendships and a professional network, above all language skills, personal development on various levels, an understanding of other cultures and a broader view of what is happening in the world.
If you want to gain practical work experience in your field of study and in an international environment, an internship abroad is a good choice. You are responsible for securing an internship position yourself, as Leuphana University does not arrange internships. Nevertheless, our International Office will be happy to support you in all further processes.
If you would like to study abroad, you have the choice between participating in the Erasmus+ programme, which provides for an exchange between universities within the EU, a stay at one of Leuphana's worldwide partner institutions, or a transfer to another institution as a so-called free mover. Here, too, the International Office provides support from the initial idea, through the stay, until your return. Please feel free to contact us.
