To ensure that your application to Leuphana University is successful, please follow the steps below - from checking study requirements to enrolment:

  1. Decide on a study programme
  2. Check and consider the application deadline
  3. Find out about the study requirements specific to the study programme, in particular the higher education entrance qualification (HZB) and language skills
  4. Understand the admission process including programme-specific procedures and requirements, for example with regard to online aptitude tests, selection interviews, extracurricular activities, etc.
    Attention: the majority of the programmes at Leuphana are admission-restricted, which means that strict selection procedures determine the allocation of study places.
  5. Check which documents have to be submitted
  6. Apply for a bachelor's programme via Leuphana's online portal if you have a school-leaving certificate from the EU, the EEA or Switzerland and are a citizen of one of these countries. Otherwise, apply via Uni-Assist.
    Apply for a master's programme via Leuphana's online portal if you have obtained your degree within the EU, the EEA or Switzerland. Otherwise, apply via Uni-Assist.
  7. If you receive an acceptance letter, you have to actively accept the place by enrolling at Leuphana.

Who can study in Germany?

In principle, anyone who successfully completes the selection procedure at a German university can study in Germany. The requirements for applicants can vary from university to university. At Leuphana University Lüneburg, a higher education entrance qualification and language skills appropriate to the study programme are the basic requirements for admission. Please check the study requirements above.

Can I study in Germany without an IELTS certificate?

In most cases, certain language skills have to be proven in order to study in English in Germany. The IELTS is usually accepted, but is only one possibility. At Leuphana University, for example, Cambridge, TOEFL, Pearson and TOEIC tests are also accepted. You can find more information above.
