Courses
In this seminar, participants jointly work through a research process in the field of child and youth welfare. Together, the course identifies a currently relevant topic to which several research questions — workable in small groups or individually — can be connected. A collectively organised data collection takes place, along with a shared analysis process that is continuously supported throughout the seminar. Methodologically, both qualitative and quantitative methods of social research are conceivable, as well as a mix of the two.
This seminar focuses specifically on constructions of gender, sexuality and desire in the history of social pedagogy. Drawing on the literature, but also through a reconstructive approach to historical case files or excerpts from files, it examines gender-specific framings of those affected within social pedagogy and jointly analyses which categorisations of gender, gender identity and sexuality were relevant to the construction of individual cases.
