Fabian Hemmerich is a research assistant in the department of Social Pedagogy, especially Diversity Research.

His areas of interest include, in particular:
- Gender, diversity, and sensitivity to prejudice and discrimination in the context of family, childcare, and child and youth welfare
- Uses and effects of (digital) media among young people, parents, and professionals in the field of child and youth welfare
- Biographical and global crises and resilience among young people in  family and child and youth welfare contexts (especially in the context of the loss of caregivers and associated grief processes)
- Content-related characteristics in media aimed at children and young people (with a focus on gender and diversity aspects)
