Vita

Danna Oomen received her MSc in Clinical and Health Psychology in 2018 at Leiden University, the Netherlands. During her master’s, she completed her thesis and research internship under the supervision of Prof. Elaine Fox at the University of Oxford, UK. Her clinical internship was completed at the specialized outpatient clinic for anxiety disorders at PsyQ, The Hague, the Netherlands. Prior to this, during her bachelor’s studies, she worked at a dual-diagnosis inpatient unit at GGZ Westelijk Noord-Brabant and a residential care unit at GGZ Breburg. In 2023, she received her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Roeljan Wiersema and Prof. Marcel Brass at Ghent University, Belgium. Her research focuses on social perception, including the perception of biological motion, social interaction, and mimicry, as well as the similarities and differences in perception between individuals with and without autism. To study this, she uses behavioral and neurophysiological methods, including EEG (ERP, frequency tagging), skin conductance, and heart rate.
