Zukunftsfoyer: Culture and Care - Practices of"Caring-with"
19. May
Inequality, precarious working conditions, barriers to access. In recent years, there has been increasing discussion within the cultural sector about ethical issues and ‘caring for one another’. The Leuphana Innovation Community for Art and Culture will be addressing this topic at the next Zukunftsfoyer on May 19th.
What you can expect
Care, in the sense of social support, involves taking on social and political responsibility at various levels – from the exchange of cultural spaces with their local communities, through mediation, to the selection of artists and works for exhibitions and performances. Following an artistic introduction, we will discuss experiences and practices of care within Lüneburg’s art and cultural landscape. Speakers include Kerstin Steeb (director), Lisa Deml (Halle für Kunst Lüneburg e.V.) and Jess Tartas (Kulturzentrum DüNE).
The event series 'Future-Foyer'
As part of the Future-Foyer series of events, the traditional theatre foyer is transformed into a space for experimentation, forward-looking discussions, concepts and new perspectives. As a joint initiative of Lüneburg Theatre and the Leuphana Innovation Community Art and Culture, the series invites experts from research and practice to examine the challenges and transformations facing the cultural sector. At previous Future-Foyer events, participants discussed inclusion and diversity, as well as humanistic perspectives on politically charged times.
