Vita

Prof. Dr. Andrea Kretschmann is Professor of Cultural Sociology and Dean at the School of Cultural Studies at Leuphana University. She is also an associate researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin. Previous visiting professorships, research associate positions, and research stays have taken her, among other things, to the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in Paris, the International Research Center for Cultural Studies (IFK) at the Kunstuniveristät Linz in Vienna, the Centre de recherches sociologiques sur le droit et les institutions pénales (CESDIP) in Versailles, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) in Vienna, and the Institute for the Sociology of Law & Crime in Vienna. Andrea Kretschmann's research focuses on cultural sociology,  political sociology, socio-legal studies and criminology.
