Sacha Kagan is Research Associate (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) since 2005 at the department 'Cultural Organization and Mediation' (Kulturvermittlung und -organisation, Fak. Kultur) and at the ISCO (Institute of Sociology and Cultural Organization) (until 2012: IKKK - Institute of Cultural Theory, Research, and the Arts).
Member of the Board of the Research Network Sociology of the Arts - European Sociological Association (ESA RN Arts). Member of the RN Sociology of Culture.
Founding director of the International Summer School of Arts and Sciences for Sustainability in Social Transformation (ASSiST). Founding Coordinator of the Cultura21 international network for cultures of sustainability.
2011: Dr. Phil. (summa cum laude) at the Leuphana University, with a Thesis on "Art and (Un)Sustainability". 2004: MA in Cultural Economics and Cultural Entrepreneurship from Erasmus University in Rotterdam (cum laude, Huygens Scholarship). 2003: Diploma (MA-equivalent) in Political Sciences (specialization in pol. sociology) from Sciences Po Bordeaux (ranked 2nd of the 2003 Promotion, Major of the pol. socio. section). 2000: basic diploma (DEUG) in History from the University of Bordeaux.
