Vita

Barbara Ehbauer is a research associate at the Centre for Sustainability Management (CSM) at Leuphana University Lüneburg and works on different aspects of sustainability management. Barbara Ehbauer's research interests lie in strategic sustainability management, particularly in relation to sustainable supply chain management and associated innovations as well as the importance of sustainability governance. As part of the project ‘Sustainability Governance of Global Value Chains’, she is working intensively on the effects, potentials and limits of supply chain laws on companies as well as corporate approaches to sustainable supply chain management.

Barbara Ehbauer studied Sustainability Economics and Management (M.A.) at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg as well as Economics and Political Science (B.A.) at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with shorter stays in Namibia and the Netherlands. During and after her studies, Barbara Ehbauer gained practical experience in sustainability-related consulting as well as foundations. She worked for a large business and auditing company in the field of sustainability in Hamburg and realised various consulting projects during her studies. In addition, Barbara Ehbauer has been a member of the Board of Trustees of filia.die Frauenstiftung for several years, has held positions in international cooperation, including in Uganda and Latvia, and is a trained facilitator in the field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) through the German Commission for UNESCO.
