Vita

Lennart Bade is a doctoral researcher at the Key Subject Area "Democratic Resilience: Democracy’s Sustainability in the Global Polycrisis Era" at the Center for the Study of Democracy and the Institute of Political Science, Leuphana University Lüneburg. As part of this position, he is writing a dissertation in the field of political theory on the topic of liberal democratic transformation processes in late modernity.

He holds a master’s degree in political theory from Goethe University Frankfurt and Technical University Darmstadt, including an exchange semester at the University of Toronto. His final thesis was titled: “The hijacked sense of possibility. An Assessment of Political Society's Possibilities in an (Un)shapeable World”.

Prior to his master’s studies, he studied Philosophy and Social Sciences at Humboldt-University Berlin. He received his bachelor’s degree in December 2021, with a thesis on fake news and speech act theory. Next to his academic interests, he was engaged in the field of critical development work and in journalism. He was an intern for the newspaper Die Zeit in early 2024 and editor of the AStA-Zeitung Frankfurt.
