Civil Law, Transnational Private Law

The professorship is dedicated to the study of legal relations between private parties that feature a cross-border element. These legal relations comprise relationships in which the parties are located in different states as well as relationships that are subject to supra- or international regulation or in which powerful, globally active players are involved.

Courses on civil law are offered in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes. The focus is on lectures on private international law, comparative law and legal methodology.
