FOR YOUR CAREER: Jule Pasenau - Scoring for the job
2022-05-20 The Leuphana alumna met her current employer at the Career Service job fair. Last year, the 30-year-old accepted the position as HR generalist in the HR department of an international management consultancy. On Tuesday, May 24, Jule Pasenau is now looking for the best young talents herself for "umlaut". Another 50 or so exhibitors will be in the Central Building from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jule Pasenau has three tips for visiting the job fair FOR YOUR CAREER: Inform in advance about the companies, have your resume and, if necessary, business card ready and lastly, actively seek the interview yourself. "You can score immensely with good preparation. If you introduce yourself to us and leave a good impression, we'll get back to you," says the business economist. In 2011, she began her business studies at Leuphana: "I was attracted by the study model with its many options." In the minor, she chose business law. "After my bachelor's degree, I originally wanted to transfer to another university, but Leuphana appealed to me in many ways. I found the many opportunities to get involved in initiatives alone exciting," says Jule Pasenau. She herself was a member of AIESEC, where she supported students who decided to do an internship abroad.
Last year, the Hamburg native then completed the master's program in "Management & Human Resources" at the Graduate School. Today, Jule Pasenau works at umlaut as an HR generalist, draws up contracts, is responsible for the onboarding of new employees, and supports employees from abroad: "We are a young, diverse team and you can develop very well in a consultancy." Many of her colleagues have also studied at Leuphana: "At umlaut, we like applicants who have thought outside the box. Through the study model, Leuphana graduates bring an interdisciplinary view with them."
She herself completed numerous internships during her studies and worked as a student trainee. "This can be a stepping stone to a career. umlaut also offers positions for students," says Jule Pasenau. She and other colleagues* will be guests at the career fair on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, and she also met her current employer there. "I was a student employee at Leuphana at the time and organized the FOR YOUR CAREER. I stayed in touch with the company through an umlaut employee. The fair is very helpful for career planning." But companies can also score points with FOR YOUR CAREER: "The fair is an important part of employer branding and employers get to know students in a relaxed atmosphere."
