Applied Linguistics
The focus of the Chair of Applied Linguistics is primarily on written digital communication from a language use-oriented perspective, with an eye to language-reflexive processes on the one hand and praxeological grammaticography and methodology on the other.
Research
The main research interests lie in the fields of media and cultural linguistics, socio- and discourse linguistics, grammar, (functional) pragmatics, and multimodality. The predominantly empirical research conducted at the chair uses both quantitative and qualitative methods.
Current research topics include the following:
- Mourning practices on the internet
- Digital writing practices and digital writing culture(s)
- Dialect situation in Liechtenstein
- Praxeological grammar (based on multimodal nominal sentences, among other things)
